Is faith just believing without evidence?

Many people think faith means closing your eyes and believing something with no proof. But in Christianity, faith is not blind. Faith is trust based on evidence.

The Bible shows this clearly. When Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead, He gave reasons for people to believe. After His resurrection, He showed Himself to the disciples for forty days with “many convincing proofs” (Acts 1:3). Their faith was built on what they saw and heard.

Faith is like trusting a chair to hold you. You do not test every piece of wood, but you have good reasons to believe it will work. In the same way, Christians trust God because of the evidence of creation, the reliability of the Bible, the life of Jesus, and personal experience.

Faith also involves commitment. It is not just believing facts about God but putting your trust in Him. For example, believing a bridge is strong is one thing; walking across it is another.

So, faith in Christianity is not blind. It is a step of trust built on good reasons, leading to a relationship with God.
