What We Believe
- There is a God who is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and who created the universe.
- This God knows you completely and loves you. He is intensely interested in every aspect of your life and wants the best for you.
- This God is also completely without evil and cannot allow evil into his presence. The word “evil” sounds really strong, but in this context just think of it as doing something that God tells us not to do.
- Whatever your situation in life, you have not been perfect. To some degree, you have not lived up to the standard God sets, which is perfect and complete separation from all traces of evil. You may indeed be better than most, but throughout your lifetime you have not been perfect in your behavior and thoughts.
- Because God cannot accept even a hint of evil, even in its mildest form, there is a separation between you and God.
- Because God loves you, he provided a means of reconciliation: Jesus would die on the cross. God would accept this punishment as the payment for your failure to live up to his perfect standard.
- To anyone who will accept this payment, God offers his forgiveness and the gift of eternal life.
