Can morality exist without God?

Some argue that people can be moral without believing in God. It is true that atheists and people of all religions do good things. But the deeper question is: where does morality come from?

If morality is only human opinion, then it can change. One culture may say stealing is wrong, while another may allow it. Without God, there is no higher standard to decide who is right.

Christianity teaches that God is the source of morality. The Ten Commandments and Jesus’ teachings reveal His unchanging standard of right and wrong. Even people who do not believe in God still have a conscience, which the Bible says is written on every heart (Romans 2:15). This shows morality comes from God, not just society.

Without God, morality has no ultimate foundation. It becomes preference instead of truth. But with God, morality has meaning, purpose, and accountability.

So while people can act morally without believing in God, the very existence of morality points to Him as its source.
